Intuitiv Designs is a BIG fan of working with activists and non-profits to spread the word on important environmental and social issues. The one that hits closest to home is the Palm Beach County chapter of the Surfrider Foundation. Surfrider Foundation’s mission is the protection of the ocean, beaches and waves through a powerful activist network. Basically, hundreds of activists come together to spread awareness on important environmental issues that negatively impact the ocean. There are 80 chapters, worldwide, with over 50,000 members. Campaigns range from plastic pollution prevention, to sustainability through championing local businesses, like Intuitiv. Protecting the ocean is very important to Intuitiv and is an issue I believe needs as much attention as possible. To get involved with Surfrider, you can search for the closest chapter in your area, and reach out to them via email/phone/social media. Or, if environmental activism isn’t where your passion lies, then please find an organization to work with whose mission aligns with your own. There are tons of ways to help! For Intuitiv, being creative and designing, is how I help.

For instance, I was recently asked to create a last minute t-shirt design for an upcoming Jack Johnson concert, which the Palm Beach County chapter was tabling. At these events, the chapter usually has information booklets about the Surfrider mission and chapter swag to sell. All profits go back to the chapter and assist in all future endeavors to build up the chapter campaigns. Getting back to the t-shirt design, the idea was to create something similar to a prior t-shirt Jack Johnson bought from the chapter, since he was obviously drawn to that specific style. Doesn’t sound too difficult, does it? The catch was I only had a few hours to have the design completed, and ready to send to print. No pressure. With a few extra hours spent sketching, tracing and finalizing the design, I was able to get the t-shirts completed, on time.

Take a look for yourselves, and let me know what you think! Would you wear it? Would you toss it out? I would love to hear your feedback. You can also buy this design online! On a water bottle, a towel, a bag, or anything else you can imagine. See all your options here:
